How it works
Cutting list to delivery, in six steps
Here is exactly what happens from your first message to delivery, and how long each step takes.
How production is organised
Specialist plants, one point of responsibility.
Timberoc is not a single workshop with one planer and one bench. Our production runs across a fixed group of specialist plants we have worked with for years, each doing one process at industrial scale.
We say so because it explains both the price and the capacity. Each job goes to the plant that does that process best, and there is always a machine free for it.
What does not change is who is responsible. You have one contract, one contact and one company carrying the job. If a piece is wrong, it is ours to put right.
Timber
European oak bought at volume as logs and boards, in known grades, so every job starts with the right material.
Sawing & drying
A sawmill and kilns that handle oak all day. Interior timber is dried to 8–10% and rested before machining — the step that keeps table tops and panels flat.
Panels & machining
A panel-gluing line for table tops, panels and treads, and machining shops with four-side planers, beam saws and CNC.
Finishing
Sanding and finishing lines applying hardwax oil and lacquer to a consistent standard, so pieces arrive ready to fit.
Every job is checked at six stages before it leaves — see how the work is checked.

The six steps
What happens between your enquiry and your delivery
Every order follows the same six steps, whether it is one table top or a lorry of boards. Each one below says what happens, roughly how long it takes, and what, if anything, we need from you at that point.
- 01
You send what you have
5 minutes
A cutting list, a drawing, a spreadsheet, a photo with sizes written on it — all of them work. If all you have is a room and an idea, describe it and we will work out what is needed.
- The quote form asks a handful of questions that change depending on what you are ordering, so we get the right information the first time.
- If something is missing, we ask one clear question.
- 02
We price it
1–2 working days
You get a written quote and a lead time. Timber, machining, finish and delivery to your postcode are all included in it.
- Pricing runs against current timber costs and capacity across the plants, so the number reflects what the job actually costs this month.
- If a choice is making it expensive for no good reason, we say so. Going from 40 mm to 60 mm on a table top, for example, moves the price more than you would expect.
- 03
List or drawing for approval
1–3 days
Before anything is cut, you get the final cutting list or drawing showing exactly what we intend to make. You sign it off.
- Changes before approval are quick and free.
- Nothing enters production on an assumption. If we are unsure about a size or a nosing, we ask rather than guess.
- 04
Into the plants
Up to 2 weeks
The job is routed to the right plant for each operation — selection, gluing, machining, sanding, finishing — each one a specialist doing that process at scale.
- Your pieces are cut alongside other orders from the same boards, so less timber is wasted and you pay less.
- You have one contact throughout, and one company carrying the job, so one call tells you where everything is.
- 05
Inspection & packing
1–2 days
Dimensional check against the approved list, finish checked, piece count verified, then packed to our standard and photographed.
- Finished faces interleaved so oiled and lacquered surfaces never touch; pallets flat-topped so they stack; a moisture barrier over the top.
- Labels on two opposite sides with order number, piece count and gross weight, so your yard knows what has landed without opening anything.
- 06
Delivered to you
Up to 1 week
Packed, loaded onto our regular delivery runs and brought to your yard or site.
- Transport is arranged and paid for at our end.
- The delivery day is agreed when you order and confirmed a few days before, so you can have someone ready to unload.

Three to five weeks, start to finish
For a typical made-to-measure order, from the day you approve the cutting list to the day it is on your site. Standard sizes are quicker — usually two to three weeks — and repeat orders on a list we already hold can be faster still.
The one thing that moves the date most is how quickly the cutting list comes back approved. That part is in your hands, and we will send a reminder if it is holding things up.
